Joining the South Shore Genealogical Society means becoming part of a group passionate about preserving and discovering the history of the South Shore. Your membership directly supports these efforts and entitles you to a number of privileges as a SSGS member.

The membership fees are $25.00/yr CAD for an individual or $35.00/yr CAD per family. We accept CAD, USD by cheque and a number of currencies online. Payment can be made through PayPal or personal cheque. We do not accept credit or debit card payments.

Membership Benefits

  • Searchable Database

    We are working to digitize and make available as much information as possible through our website. This currently includes many cemetery inscriptions, vital stats, and school records.

  • Newsletter Backissues

    Non-members may subscribe and receive our newsletters, but backissues are only available to the SGSS membership.

  • Meeting Minutes

    SGSS members will receive and have available all minutes from general meetings.

  • Post Queries

    SGSS members may post queries in our newsletter free of charge.

  • Vote

    SGSS members have the right to cast votes at general meetings.

  • Reduced Copy Fees

    SGSS members receive reduced fees for photocopying.

  • Research Facilities

    Members may use the research facilities at the SGSS at no charge.
